At Magnimous we focused on understanding/developing science and technology products/device that interfaces with biology, electronics & computer science. These efforts are highly interdisciplinary and require expertise from nearly all engineering and science backgrounds. Its fundamental research activities focus on the development of novel biomolecular detection concepts and miniaturized analysis systems. The applications span a broad range of sectors including medical, agriculture & food diagnostics. The group closely follows the emerging field of biosensing and is active in the following domains (i) Bio-assay development (e.g., aptamers, biofunctionalized nanomaterials), (ii) Wearable biosensor, (iii) Optical sensors (e.g., fiber optic SPR sensors) (iv) Microfluidics (e.g., lab-on-a-chip technology) (v) Genomic data structure.
