Construction of Demirci Alaağaç Dam which is planned with irrigation purposes is ongoing in the Demirci County of Manisa province.
Put out to tender by General Directorate of Water Resources, concrete filling and the principal spillway of the dam construction has begun. 4,100 decares of land will attain water once the dam is constructed.
Mayor of Demirci Erkan Kara revealed:
“The construction of Alaağaç irrigation dam has been sped up. Behind the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, we are in close watch of the investments in dams and ponds which bear a significant importance for our farmers. Starting with the ones in Alaağaç neighborhood, farmers in the whole region will have access to means of irrigation once the construction is complete.”
